HE STORY BEHIND THE AF KLERCKER BRAND

a passion for style passed on through generations

I inherited my passion for clothing, style and classical menswear from my immaculately dressed late grandfather Fredrik af Klercker. Born in 1908, hed passed on his interest to my father Peter af Klercker and later to me. I base the af Klercker style on a genuine and original interest in sartorial matters. This passion not only grows stronger while observing people in my own faded family photographs, but also through favourite movie classics and their stars, stylish magazines, as well as watching people in the streets. My love for the traditional craft of fashion and timeless style makes me particularly appreciate and observe details like a tailored double vent that stretches that extra inch up the back, contrasting colour linings, blazer sleeves you can unbutton, a hint of bold colour between a dress shoe and that bespoke suit or a perfect tie knot teamed with the right style of shirt collar. Through my ancestors I learnt the rules, but also how to break them. The base for the af Klercker brand, as well as my own taste, will always be the classics, paired with something unexpected.
